Painter Christopher Mir tapped into a style of expression a few years ago that has catapulted him into 2 one person shows at Rare Gallery in Chelsea (NYC). Mir selects random images that appeal to him and juxtaposes them into a personal and unpredicatable story that the viewer is left to interrupt. With waif artist wife, Karen Dow and their two big-eyed gamine babies, Christopher Mir frequently features his loved ones in his visual stories. His paintings are done in both in acrylic and oils, but always feature a tension of transition. One can only imagine what they have stumbled onto.
