Rehearsal of the Pasdeloup Orchestra at the Cirque d'Hiver
A Pleasant Surprise from John Singer Sargent

John Singer Sargent, a contemporary of Austin's is perhaps more well known, particularly for his upper class portraits in the late 1800's and early 1900's, and later for his murals. Sensuous yet proper, most of his works are well executed with precision and careful planning. However, in this entry it is not Madame X I will share with you but rather a loosely painted and expressive piece embracing the movement of the orchestra's music compliation; still as equally enticing as his portraits.
